Would you like to take another sneak peek inside our flat to check out some of our favourite thrifted furniture finds? We previously showed you some of our treasures over here but it turns out we’ve got a lot of vintage-y furniture goodness scattered around … so it’s time for part two!
UMBRELLA: Awhile ago I decided to have a vintage-themed birthday party, ostensibly to dress up and give my collection a day in the sun … but really to acquire more lovely things with a (somewhat flimsy) reason. This umbrella absolutely falls into the “acquire” category. It was rather exxy at $40, bought from eBay and kindly ferried from the Sunshine Coast to me via a friend, but it was too cute to pass up. It is now trotted out at every garden party as proof that it was indeed an essential purchase.
SPOTTY STOOL: This is an example of how ridiculously expensive things can get if you buy them from stylised vintage stores. I picked up this lovely spotty stool for $75 from Retro Metro. I think I was blindsided by the fact that I had a $50 voucher to spend (thanks, Ash!) so I only had to hand over $25. Nonetheless, it fits our little flat’s style perfectly … and has quickly become Mim’s throne. And you may remember that blue side table from back when Alana gave it a funky facelift.
LOVESEAT: This cane loveseat takes pride of place on the balcony overlooking our garden. It’s a lovely spot to curl up and read a book or enjoy an afternoon beer – if spoilt little Mimi hasn’t already claimed the space. I scored this find at a Paddington antique store for $150 including delivery. I’m still rather happy with that!
