Intuitive goal setting for 2015

Intuitive goal setting

Wow, 2014. You were a biggie. There have been some HUGE shifts this year. Have you felt it in your life?

I have felt the gentle nudge to quit playing safe and to put myself out there, warts and all. What a journey.

It’s nice to be able to reflect back on the year that was. The highs and the lows. And to consider what we want to call into our lives next and what things we are now ready to release.

I’ve stumbled across a potent process for uncovering the words that will be my driving force for next year. I used my intuition to guide me and the words that came out feel so right and so in alignment with my next direction. The potency of this process is just too good not to share. Yet it is so simple! I’ve wrapped up the five simple steps in this video for you.

The video is seven minutes (I know that’s long) but if you’re struggling to find your direction for next year, I really encourage you to watch this video and do the steps. I know with certainty you will get a lot out of it. If you really can’t find the time, below the video, I’ve briefly summarised each step.

To summarise, the steps I cover in this video are:

Step 1: Pull out your journals for the last two years and read through them. If you don’t journal, you can use this post from Open Heart Woman to reflect on the year that was or this post to get your started on your journaling journey.

Step 2: Note down any cycles or consistent themes that have continued to appear throughout the two years.

Step 3: Use your intuition to feel into the energy of the themes you have identified. Explore this energy. Is it expansive or restrictive? Is it high or low? Does it make you feel excited or exhausted?

Step 4: Based on the energies you identified, ask yourself: is this an energy I want to call into my life next year? If the answer is yes, pick a word that reflects this energy. If the answer is no, choose a word that counters this energy.

Step 5: Spend some time free journalling around the words you have chosen. What do these words mean to you? What kinds of tangible actions will you take to ensure you stay in alignment with the energy of these words?

As simple as that!

What are your words for 2015? What are you hoping to call in and what energies are you ready to release? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below.

This was such a wonderful process – easy to follow and I found it great to have a fresh perspective. My words for 2015 were easy to identify – they kind of ‘lit up’ as I thought of them. Independence – to me that means developing an inner strength and belief in my own resilience and a calmness when alone. A major theme for me was the worry that close friends were rejecting me (when they weren’t). Release – restriction in my relationship with food (followed by binging), my creativity, and time for fun was another major theme. So release to me means taking those ‘rules’ away and learning to have a healthy relationship with my body and food, and to immerse myself in the joy of creativity and fun activities. My final word is explore. In the last couple of years I’ve developed an ‘ideal’ lifestyle in my head. Apart from the cottage and huge space for veggies and an orchard, this lifestyle is attainable right now. But I’ve been resisting change. So in 2015 I wish to explore those changes without the pressure of committing to that dream forever. Less perfectionism and more ‘what feels right for me this week?’. Thank you for this fabulous exercise! 🙂 x

Bronwen! This comment gave me body tingles and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for taking the time to come back to this space and share your thoughts and your words for 2015. It means a lot to me.
The words you have chosen are heartfelt and I can hear and feel the level of thought and self-awareness you have brought to the entire process. These words are going to be potent! I love how you have said that the words ‘lit up’ for you! I could not have described this better myself and it’s exactly what I felt too when I did the process.
Oh! There is so much gold right here. Please keep me posted on how it goes for you as the year progresses xx
