Turn your sensitivity into your superpower

“You’re too sensitive.”

If I had a dollar for every time someone said this to me, I’d be one rich woman.

Being sensitive means:

+ I cry easily.
+ I wear my heart on my sleeve.
+ I think and feel deeply.
+ A full-strength cup of coffee leaves me feeling like I’ve snorted a line of speed.
+ Trips to the shopping mall or to crowded spaces wipe me out for hours.
+ Television advertisements are jarring and loud.
+ I need a lot of time on my own to recharge.
+ Sometimes I just “know” things.
+ News programs deflate and sadden me.
+ I experience really high highs and really low lows.

Sensitivity can feel like a curse sometimes. It exposes you to a whole heap of energetic influences and you have to know your own energetic body really well in order to be able to discern what is your stuff and what is someone else’s.

For twelve months I’ve been working closely on my own energetic body, specifically with my chakras. These rainbow-coloured, swirling balls of energy have slowly, but surely, exposed my intuitive sensitivity for the superpower it truly is.

And with my intuitive voice much stronger and guiding me constantly, I’ve been able to start creating a life I really love.

What are chakras?

You have twelve chakras within your energetic field. Each chakra plays an important role in your physical and spiritual life. If your chakras are doing their job properly, your life flows. If your chakras are struggling, your life can feel like one big struggle, too.

Before working with my chakras I was:

+ Deeply depressed.
+ Stuck in a job I hated.
+ Confused about my life purpose.
+ Emotionally volatile.
+ Unable to meditate.
+ Disconnected from my intuitive voice and higher wisdom.
+ Highly stressed.
+ Completely ungrounded.

After working with my chakras:

+ I quit my corporate job and set off on my adventure in Walter the Campervan.
+ My intuitive sensitivity sky-rocketed.
+ I kick-started my own intuitive card reading biz.
+ My emotions stabilised.
+ I feel divinely guided and tuned in to my higher wisdom.
+ I feel a sense of purpose.
+ I’m grounded and able to more easily deal with stressful situations.
+ I’ve mastered my meditation practice.
+ My life is full of joy and ease.

Why has working with my chakras had such a profound effect on my life?

Goodbye emotional sensitivity

Before working on my chakras, my emotional sensitivity was like a roller coaster. It felt like I was at the mercy of life. If something “bad” happened, down I’d go. If something “good” happened, up I’d come again.

Up. Down. Up. Down. Up. Down. It was terribly exhausting.

Balancing my chakras brought balance to my emotions.

When your emotions aren’t running all over the place, you can naturally think more clearly, you start to experience how good life can actually feel, and it becomes pretty obvious what parts of your life aren’t working for you anymore.

When you get a taste of how amazing life can be, when everything in your life is working and feeling right, then it doesn’t take much effort to cut out the stuff that negatively impacts that.

I said goodbye to alcohol, drugs, certain relationships, and even a 10-year career because it became blatantly obvious that these things were no longer a good fit for me.

Hello intuitive sensitivity

Intuitive sensitivity is very subtle. Naturally, if you’re experiencing extreme emotional waves, it becomes very difficult to tune into the wise, intuitive part of yourself.

With my emotions sorted, it was like the scales suddenly swung the other way. My intuitive muscle got stronger and my intuitive voice, louder. I started to trust my inner guidance system and I began taking steps to create a life that was in alignment with my higher purpose. I bought Walter the Campervan and set off on an adventure around Australia, relying solely on my intuition to guide the entire journey.

Things got really exciting when I discovered I could use my intuitive sensitivity to guide and help others too – and so, working from the back of Walter the Campervan, I kick-started my own intuitive card reading biz.

The best part about working with my chakras…

I used to feel lost, passionless and purposeless. So many parts of my life felt wrong. I knew I had to make change but I had no idea what to change to.

Twelve months on – sure, I still don’t have all the answers – but, buoyed by the continuous guidance of my intuition, I’ve let go of the stuff that no longer serves me well, and step-by-step I’ve started to discover and welcome into my life the stuff that lights me up.

    In most ways I’m not sensitive enough, I can be hot headed and unreasonable at the best of times. Learning and practicing mindfulness (10-minute guided meditation and yoga daily) has helped me calm my temper and refocus my goals. I’m always on the look out to learn more — thank you for the knowledge on chakras & the brilliant resources!
