What does it actually take to live a soulful life?
This is the question that’s been burning a hole in my brain for the past few weeks as I’ve set off around Australia in Walter the Campervan.
You see, it’s great to say “I want to live a soulful life” but then reality comes crashing in, carrying with it an avalanche of fears.
I left just over four weeks ago and — let me get really raw and honest with you here — I’ve run into a few (metaphorical) road-blocks. My emotions have been like some kind of wild rollercoaster.
One day I’m all like: “My life is freaking awesome!”
And then the next it’s more like: “Oh. My. God. What have I done?”
This is what happens when we step out of our comfort zone, right?
In one corner of the ring we have the fearful ego shouting all the things that are likely to go wrong, urging us to get back into the safety of our comfort zone. In the other corner we’ve got the soul, quietly and lovingly guiding us forward to something greater and better, even though at times it feels risky, wild, scary and unknown.
So how do we balance the two and get them to play nice?
I’ve had a few thousand kilometres worth of driving to ponder this question and I reckon it starts with just one little thing. Recorded in the back of Walter the Campervan, in this video I’m sharing the one thing I’ve been doing to create harmony between my soul-self and my thinking-self.
Oh, and keep scrolling down as there’s a whole lot of links to awesome soul-treats below and some photos of my adventure so far.
Are you on a soulful journey too? What tips or tricks do you have for balancing these two opposing forces? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
