{Podcast 014} Tabitha Jayne: using nature to heal emotional blocks and build your trust muscle

Tabitha Jayne

Tabitha Jayne is an eco-psychologist, author, speaker and the founder of The Nature Process – an online program that teaches you how to tap into the power of nature so that you can discover the power and potential of your natural self.

As you’ll hear in this interview, Tabi has endured some extremely dark experiences throughout her life — severe ill health, bullying, childhood abuse, rape, and the death of her younger brother in a car accident — more darkness than any woman should have to experience in a lifetime.

Through it all, Tabi has relied on the healing power of nature to release her trauma. In fact, it was a profound awakening experience with an old oak tree that propelled Tabi into a period of deep healing and spiritual growth, eventually leading her to uncover and develop The Nature Process.

This interview catches Tabi in the midst of another profound awakening.  Struggling with a desire for validation and approval in her own business, Tabi has deep dived into the discomfort, uncovering a well of trauma she thought had been healed long ago. Tabi openly shares how she has used her own nature process to heal this trauma and come out the other side with a new and more aligned business vision —  to have the earth viewed as a living, sentient being.

What I love about Tabi is that she’s not afraid to explore the darkness. So often these days we feel the pressure to be happy all the time, while darkness or shadow work is considered shameful. Tabi is not afraid to go deep to the root of an emotional trauma and still, despite all the pain she’s experienced, she has an unwavering ability to trust in the process and timing of life.

Why is it so hard to love myself?

Alana Helbig2

I remember the first time someone called me fat. I wasn’t more than six or seven years old. At the time I don’t think I really even knew what it meant but I knew it was bad. That I was bad. That I wasn’t good enough.

I remember the first time I went on a diet. I was 15. As the weight dropped off, my apparent love for myself grew exponentially. Then I gained the weight back and I hated myself again. Hated myself into a dark depression

“You’re fat” became the insult of choice. Family members, girls at school, even strangers would use those words to hurt me. And it did. An arrow direct to the bulls-eye of my heart.

I don’t remember a time since when I haven’t been on a diet.

It’s not just the weight though. Over the years I’ve suffered from severe cystic acne followed closely by  adult acne (and the scarring that comes with it), high-school bullying, depression, low self-worth, hormonal hair, weird skin rashes, hyper-emotional sensitivity, confusion about my sexuality, binge eating, ongoing back pain, drug and alcohol abuse,  and a myriad of other stuff I’m not comfortable sharing.

Learning to love myself feels like a bloody big job. Continue Reading →

{Podcast 010} Lauren Aletta: intuitive coach and Inner Hue founder

Lauren Aletta Inner Hue

Lauren is an intuitive coach and the founder of Inner Hue, through which she conducts intuitive readings, soul-food sessions and workshops that support men and women to reconnect with their passions, intuition and soul-guidance.

Almost one year ago, on a warm spring day, in a lush green park in Brisbane, I met Lauren for a reading. During the reading, Lauren conversed directly with the deepest depths of my soul, side stepping all the bullshit and guiding me back to the truth of who I really am. Afterwards I felt like I was floating on a cloud. Abundant signs from the Universe poured in, I felt ground-breaking shifts in my ability to trust my intuition and, reflected back to me directly from Lauren, I started to see how my own sensitivity was a gift to be cherished. For days I slept with the rose quartz crystal she programmed for me under my pillow, my connection to and reminder of the magic that occurred during the reading. Still, a year on, I turn back to my notes from our session for constant guidance and reassurance that I am exactly where I need to be.

If you know Lauren’s work, it’s not hard to see that this is a woman that has found her purpose. She’s the kind of person that draws you in with her thoughtful, unique and refreshing views of the world. She has an insane ability to take the mystical world of intuition and higher guidance and explain it in a practical down-to-earth way. She is mind-blowingly intuitive, yet totally grounded. She’s extremely talented and gifted, yet oh-so-humble. She’s so obviously connected and tuned into the spiritual world, yet she is still so incredibly human. How beautiful and admirable it is to watch her create balance, harmony and success with such — what could be perceived as — contradicting natures at play. Continue Reading →

Chakra love: how I turned my sensitivity into my superpower

Turn your sensitivity into your superpower

“You’re too sensitive.”

If I had a dollar for every time someone said this to me, I’d be one rich woman.

Being sensitive means:

+ I cry easily.
+ I wear my heart on my sleeve.
+ I think and feel deeply.
+ A full-strength cup of coffee leaves me feeling like I’ve snorted a line of speed.
+ Trips to the shopping mall or to crowded spaces wipe me out for hours.
+ Television advertisements are jarring and loud.
+ I need a lot of time on my own to recharge.
+ Sometimes I just “know” things.
+ News programs deflate and sadden me.
+ I experience really high highs and really low lows.

Sensitivity can feel like a curse sometimes. It exposes you to a whole heap of energetic influences and you have to know your own energetic body really well in order to be able to discern what is your stuff and what is someone else’s.

For twelve months I’ve been working closely on my own energetic body, specifically with my chakras. These rainbow-coloured, swirling balls of energy have slowly, but surely, exposed my intuitive sensitivity for the superpower it truly is.

And with my intuitive voice much stronger and guiding me constantly, I’ve been able to start creating a life I really love. Continue Reading →

{Podcast 009} Nicole Mathieson: kinesiologist and intimacy coach

Nicole Mathieson She Makes Magic Podcast

My first kinesiology session with Nicole Mathieson happened back in 2012. I walked in a broken-hearted, tear-stained mess. An hour and a half later I walked out holding tightly to a small space of peace Nicole had somehow miraculously etched into my core amidst the hurricane of depression, sadness and despair.

For over two years I returned to her clinic again and again.  Each time we stripped back another layer, going deeper and healing further. Nicole supported me as I healed from a broken heart, overcame my depression, kicked my drug and alcohol habits, said goodbye to toxic relationships, got honest about my sexuality, reconnected with my wise old soul, learnt to trust my intuition, quit my soul-sucking corporate job, bought my campervan, and finally started to fall in love with and own the person I truly am.

Nicole has epically and completely changed my entire life — from the inside out.

What Nicole does in her clinic can really only be described as magic. You have to experience it yourself to truly appreciate what an extraordinary healer she actually is. You see, it’s not just the kinesiology. It’s her ability to really go to that place with you. It’s her ability to find just the right words to crack you wide open and then rebuild you again into something more whole, more real, more you. Continue Reading →
